The Casino Advisory Panel in Glasgow is discussing the impact of a Las Vegas-style casino. The city is competing against other six locations in the UK.

According to Councilor Steven Purcell a regional casino would be a major contribution to the regeneration of the area and more people could enjoy the local success.

The council predictions are that £26m will be spent on investments and that the casino will bring more than 600,000 visitors per year. Also it would generate 2,500 new jobs for local residents.

The sites being considered are: Glasgow Harbor, The Scottish Exhibition, Ibrox and St. Enoch, in the city center.
